Hi there! Thank you so much for visiting the Budgie Snuggler Bird Care and Rescue website.
We are based in Brisbane, Australia and have provided sanctuary and assistance to birds of all sorts since 2002. We are currently caring for over 100 birds and counting every day.
We rescue and care for any bird, no matter what circumstances or species. As our small group is made up of licensed wildlife carers, many of the birds we care for are injured or orphaned wild birds that we rehabilitate and release. We also provide a loving “forever home” for pet birds that are surrendered by owners who can no longer take care of them.
We do not breed, sell or re-home any of the birds that come to us. Any babies that are born in our aviaries are beautiful “accidents”, as we do not provide nesting boxes for the birds. We strongly discourage people from buying birds as pets, and encourage those who want to share their lives with them (or any animal for that matter), to do so by helping those already in need.
We believe in love, compassion and kindness for every creature on this earth, without discrimination of species. As such, we network with other groups and carers so that we may provide assistance to any other animal that may need help. We also promote and share cruelty-free ways of living.
Furthermore, our aim is to create a community with members who all share a common goal – a desire to make this planet a wonderful safe haven for all creatures.
As such, we are building a support network for animal and wildlife carers who often sacrifice their own quality of life in order to do the amazing care and rescue work they do. The Budgie Snuggler team works closely with a few of Brisbane’s most inundated carers who do not have the luxury of time to search for help themselves. We therefore represent them as well as our own team in our appeal to the community for support and involvement in animal care and rescue.
